Lolita Ritmanis, Vilnis Šmīdbergs, Jānis Ivanovs, Platons Buravickis – these are the Latvian composers whose music will be heard at the concert dedicated to Latvia’s Lāčplēsis Day. The wind instruments of the orchestra are accompanied by the voices of the choristers in the magnificent acoustics of Riga Cathedral. We will hear Buravickis’ new work Truth and Appearance, the first reading of which will be performed by the orchestra conducted by Valdis Butāns and solo tenor Armands Siliņš-Bergmanis.

This is one of the events dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day in Riga. All the events dedicated to Lāčplēsis Day and the annyversary of the proclamation of Latvia in Riga will be found on the website svetki.riga.lv, as well as on the pages of social networks “Rīga” and “Rīgā notiek”.

The concert will be recorded by Latvian Radio 3. The creation of the new work is supported by the State Culture Capital Fund and Riga City Council.
