Traditionally, the program of the WINDSTREAM festival includes a concert dedicated to the memory of the victims of the communist genocide. On March 25 in cooperation with the choirs  – the Riga Chamber Choir “Ave Sol” and the mixed choir of the Riga Dome Choir School, as well as four vocal soloists, Orchestra RIGA will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem. A requiem in music is traditionally dedicated to the memory of the dead, praying for the souls of the dead. V. A. Mozart’s Requiem in d minor is one of the most famous in world music and also became Mozart’s last piece, as the composer passed away without completing this opus. In the music literature, it is still one of the most mysterious and amazing compositions, which has touched people’s hearts throughout the ages and encouraged quiet thoughts about life, death and eternity.
