Concert BACH. MOZART. DE MEIJ

This summer, Orchestra “Riga” once again invites classical music lovers to the heart of Riga Old Town for the Summer Classics concert series taking place at the historic Riga Cathedral – one of the most majestic and acoustically rich sacred venues in Latvia. Led by conductor Guntis Kuzma, the concert will guide listeners through the precision of Baroque counterpoint, the clarity of classical form, and the bold colors of contemporary symphonic music writing. The soloist for the Bassoon Concerto is Raimonds Gulbis, and renowned organist Kristīne Adamaite will perform on the historic Riga Cathedral organ. The evening spans three centuries of musical masterworks, from Bach’s intricate counterpoint and Mozart’s lyrical clarity, to the cinematic and spatial soundscapes of Johan de Meij, one of the most performed living wind orchestra composers in the world.
