In 2024, when the whole world will passionately follow the events of the Olympic Games in Paris, the capital of France, in the final concert of the WINDSTREAM festival, the Orchestra RIGA will indulge in the charm and musical allure of Paris – almost all the pieces included in the program directly or indirectly resonate with the leitmotif of Paris – be it George Gershwin’s Enthralling Paris in the famous composition “American in Paris” with jazz harmonies, or the premiere of Igor Stravinsky’s ballet “The Firebird” in Paris in 1910, or the “Poem of Fire” by the French composer and pianist, a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire and currently living in Paris, Ida Gotkovsky, or the world-requested French The first visit of solo percussionist Adélaïde Ferrière , a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire, to Latvia at the invitation of the Orchestra RIGA. The charm, passion and excitement with which she approaches each sheet of music instantly draws those around her into the language of her music. Together with the Orchestra RIGA, Ferrière will play “Concerto for Percussion and Brass Band” by the American composer Gary Ziek.

Percussionist Adélaïde Ferrière (France) is the winner of several international awards; received the prestigious Revelation Soliste Instrumental award at the 24th Victoires de la Musique Classique, becoming the first percussionist to be nominated for the award at the event. The young artist has performed at the Paris Philharmonic, Paris National Opera, Auditorium de Radio-France, Opera Comique, Seine Musicale, Comédie Française, IRCAM, Salzburg Mozarteum, London National Portrait Gallery, Luxembourg Philharmonic, Epidaurus Ancient Theater, Salzburg Festival, Monte Carlo Art Museum, as well as a series of festivals – Présences, d’Automne, “Manifest”, La Folle Journée de Nantes, de Pâques, Ravel and Berlioz, PAS International Convention, Les Variations Musicales de Tannay. The spring festival WINDSTREAM was founded in 2010 and is organized and produced annually by the Orchestra RIGA. It is the largest, most significant and long-lasting festival produced by the Orchestra RIGA. The WINDSTREAM festival always starts with the arrival of astronomical spring and includes Easter time, and its motto is “Wake up and remember, hear and enjoy!”.
